Established in 1986 to import and distribute the Japanese HORIBA particle size analysers for ceramics, elemental analysers for metals, in Australasia. By visiting customers with the instruments and solving their analysis requirements, we built the local sales to 40% of the market; as well trained sales staff in Kyoto, India and Thailand. In early 1990s we designed and built the first supercritical water flow plant in Australia to study coal solvency, with Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organisation. The plant is still operational and has been used for chemical engineering studies in synthetic fuels and toxic waste destruction. In late 1990s we raised $5 million for research and development into production of sub-micron metal oxide particles, and produced new machinery to do so that reduced running cost, and increased service life by 10 times. Recent work has involved robotic production of vehicle parts, natural gas to liquid fuels studies, natural gas and biological materials to industrial chemicals process development, an analysis of failures in Pressure Acid Leaching of nickel ore, establishing sales and distribution network for machine tools in America and the Middle East; and medical applications for Titanium-Aluminide alloys. Our business is in managing new projects where there is no existing expertise and reaching performance and productivity goals we agree with the client.
