  • Profile: I offer students the opportunity to develop their innate artistic skills along their own developmental lines. Two classes actively promote this idea. First, a highly structured drawing class provides students with the opportunity to study, analyse and portray the relationship of forms found in the human body. Male and female models are alternated on a weekly basis and the combination of short and long poses over a 2 hour period give students an opportunity to perceive how forms are related and flow together to form a whole.Second, in the painting class students are actively encouraged to experiment with media of their own choosing. Themed lessons such as Art and Play, Art and Transformation, The Portrait, The Figure in a Studio Setting, help students gain a broader understanding of what art is all about. Traditional materials can be re-examined to help bring about art works having an innovative and original impact. An exhibition of works is to be held towards the end of the year and in addition, it is hoped that student works will be featured on the ianwilliamsstudio.com website shortly.
